Sandwichbikes unites innovation with sustainable materials

The Sandwichbike is a Dutch Design original. The bicycle combines sustainable cultivated beechwood, specially designed aluminium components and the best bicycle parts. The unique materials, combined with innovative connection solutions, give Sandwichbikes a distinctive appearance.

The Sandwichbikes frame parts are made of sustainable cultivated beechwood. German Beech trees provide splinter-free, impact-resistant hardwood with high tensile, compressive, bending strength. The beech veneer is durable and robust and are glued and pressed to a Sandwichbike frame panel. The pressed panels are cut into the Sandwichbikes parts by CNC-controlled saws. As the finishing touch, the wooden panels are treated with a varnish that is breathable and UV-resistant so that the Sandwichbike is all weather proof.

Every part of the Sandwichbikes bicycle is specially designed. The Sandwichbikes’ aluminium handlebar block connects the two wooden frame parts and also provides the housing for the headset and handlebar connection. The details and dimensions ensure a strong and stylish solution.

The sustainably produced beech wood panels are mounted to the aluminium cylinders using specially designed cups and black stainless steel bolts. This results in an extremely strong frame. This frame forms the basis for the various Sandwichbike models. You can choose from different frame heights. There is also a choice between a version with a steel front fork with adjustable handlebars and a version with a beech wood front fork.

The Sandwichbike fits in a small, flat package, so it can be send by post. Everything you need is in the box including the tools, so you can start assembling right away. A beautiful and unique product made from sustainable materials makes the user proud of their bicycle.
